What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture originates from China and has been practiced there for thousands of years. Although there are records of acupuncture being used hundreds of years ago in Europe, it was during the second half of the twentieth century it began to spread rapidly in Western Europe, the United States and Canada.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through the patient’s skin at specific points on the body. According to traditional Chinese medical theory, acupuncture points are located on meridians through which qi vital energy runs.
What is Naturopathy?
A naturopath is health practitioner who applies natural therapies, such as nutrition, water, and exercise. A Naturopath sees humankind as a holistic unity of body, mind, and spirit.
What conditions respond well to acupuncture?
According to World Health Organisation acupuncture is effective for treating 28 conditions, while evidence indicates it may have an effective therapeutic value for many more. People with tension headaches and/or more migraines, back pain, arthritis, sport injuries, fatigue, anxiety & depression may find acupuncture to be very effective in alleviating their symptoms.
A few words about me
Vida – a medical doctor (finished Kaunas University of Medicine) specialising in internal diseases for over 20 years. After discovering the “wonders” of acupuncture Vida undertook a qualification as an acupuncturist at Vilnius University of Medicine in 1996 year, later as an acupuncturist and naturopath at London Naturopathy College in 2012 year. She is a member of The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture UK, and a member of The Acupuncture Society of Professional Oriental Therapies UK.
